Mum Of Steven Dyson Says She Has "Closure" After Conclusion Of Court Case

The mother of Steven Dyson who went missing from a new years eve party in Ramsbottom and was later found dead - has told us she now has closure after all court proceedings were completed yesterday.

22 year old Steven went missing after attending a new years eve party leading to a full scale search organised by the police and the local community.

However after a 6 day search Steven's body was  found in the river Irwell in Summerseat.

Yesterday 22 year old Daniel Conway from Bacup pleaded guilty to assaulting Steven at a party in the hours before he disappeared.

He was sentenced to a 12 month community rehabilitation order and unpaid work.

Speaking to us afterwards Lorraine said the fact she received an apology did help

"I'll give him that, and it's all I'll give him, he did look at me as he was making a direct apology and he said he didn't mean for any of this to happen. But he's still here and my son isn't.

"I just wanted it to come to an end because I feel like it's been dragged through the year. It wasn't the conclusion I think Steven deserved but I'm glad it's now come to an end."

No link has been proven between the assault and Steven's death.
