Man Charged Following Explosive Device Thrown Into Bolton Car

Detectives investigating an incident which saw an improvised explosive device thrown into a car in Bolton have charged a man.

Hamid Luqman, 31, of Halifax Road, Rochdale has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B substance, money laundering and participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group.

He appeared before Manchester city Magistrates Court earlier today, where he was remanded to appear before Bolton Crown Court on 4 October 2019.

The original incident that detectives are investigating took place on Castle Street on Tuesday 23 July 2019 and saw an improvised explosive device thrown into a BMW car.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
