Man Charged Following Arson Attack In Harpurhey

He's due to appear at Magistrates' Court today.

A man has been charged in relation to an arson attack on a man in Harpurhey.

27-year-old Lewis Crabtree of no fixed abode has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and three shoplifting offences.

He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today.

At around 4:50am on Sunday, police were called to Harpurhey Shopping Centre, Manchester, to reports of a serious assault of a 26-year-old man.

Emergency services attended and although the victim didn’t suffer any injuries, his clothing was damaged by the fire.
