Images Released Of Two Men Following Bolton Road Rage Attack

Police investigating a road rage attack in Bolton have released images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Shortly after 11.15am on Saturday 26 May, police were called to reports of a road rage incident at the junction of Moss Bank Way and Halliwell Road.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, was driving with her family when a silver Vauxhall Astra pulled in front of her car without proper caution. She beeped at the Astra in response and following that, two men got out armed with a hammer. The victim had the windscreen on her blue Nissan van smashed, and her husband and 16-year-old son were assaulted.

The offenders then abandoned their vehicle and left the scene on foot in the direction of Halliwell Road.

PC Zach Keneally of GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victims. Fortunately they suffered only minor injuries, but were left badly shaken.

“We are following several lines of enquiry in relation to this incident, and would like to appeal to anyone with information to contact police.

“If anyone recognises the men in these photos, I would ask you to get in touch with police as soon as you possibly can.”

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 or 0161 856 5761, or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
