Hundreds Gather Outside Hulton Park To Protest Against Golf Course Development

Hundreds of residents gathered outside the main gates of Hulton Park this morning to show their opposition to plans by Peel Holdings to redevelop the site.

The proposals include an 18 hole golf course and 1000 homes along with a luxury hotel.

Locals are angry because the plans would see the loss of wildlife and greenbelt.

As well as open park land there are also dairy farms on the site which would have to be demolished meaning their business and livelihoods would be lost.

The councils planning committee were due to meet next week but after a large number of responses were received from the public that meeting has been postponed until  later date
