A local group in Bolton are campaigning to stop a manufacturing plant being built which they say will be harmful to residents health.
The Burden Asphalt Plant has raised concerns amongst residents about toxic fumes, noise pollution and dust in the air.
A petition has been launched to try and stop the plant.
A member of The Darcy Lever Residents Association said: "They're on about it being a 24-hour operation, so working nights and obviously that is going to impact the health and well-being of residents in that locality."
Darcy Lever is already known for having high levels of pollution and the association are concerned about what adding to that issue will be.
"They've already got issues with health and stuff like that, there are elderly people in those areas as well.
"People suffering with COPD and conditions like that and asthma.
"I don't think its been fully assessed, once it's built it's built and that will be it."
Bolton council will next look at the plans on the 7th of March.
