Bolton Man Stabbed In Mass Brawl

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man received multiple stab wounds in Bolton.

Shortly after 12.15am this morning (Friday 28 June 2018) officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Deane Road involving around eight men.

The 21-year-old man is being treated in hospital for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and is in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Tony Lunt from GMP's Bolton District said: "There appears to have been a fight involving around eight men which started near the Spar shop in Deane Road and moved in front of Pikes Lane Medical Centre. This lasted for several minutes and we are appealing for anyone who saw anything, or may have CCTV or dash-cam footage, to contact us.

“Extra police patrols are in the area and residents should speak to officers about any concerns they may have.”
