Bolton Bookmakers Robbed By Man Who Crashed Through Ceiling

Did you witness a robbery at a Bolton bookmakers this morning?   

Officers are appealing for information after Ladbrokes on Tonge Moor Road was robbed at around 8.10am. 

Around this time, a member of staff opened up the bookmakers but was met by a man who came crashing through the ceiling. 

The man charged at the woman with a knife, grabbed her and tied her up. 

The woman – aged in her 30s – wasn’t injured but has been left understandably shaken. 

The man fled through the rear of the bookmakers with cash. 

He is described as around 5ft 4in tall and had his face covered. 

Detective Sergeant Craig Wallace of Bolton CID, said: “I want to reassure the local community and business owners that all efforts are currently being considered and pursued in apprehending the offender. 

“This is a very serious crime and has left the woman involved in a very shocked state. We are focused on identifying this man and bringing him to justice.”
