Appeal After Woman Mugged In Breightmet

It happened at around 9 o'clock on Monday near the Withins Pub.

Did you witness a robbery on Breightmet Fold Lane, Breightmet near the Withins Public House? 

Officers are appealing for information after a woman was robbed on Monday 1 July 2019. 

At around 9am a man threatened the victim – who was alone at the time of the incident – and demanded her handbag.   

During the robbery the victim –  a woman in their 30s – was pushed. Following this the offender fled on foot with her handbag. 

They are described as a white  man, around 5ft 6 inches tall and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket and grey jogging bottoms. 

Police Constable David Kier, of GMP’s Bolton district, said: “At the time of the incident traffic was busy and it may be that members of the public had dash cam footage that could prove vital to our investigation. 

“I would appeal directly to people that were in the nearby area on Monday to check their dash cam footage and see if you can see the offender or anyone acting suspicious. 

“Please help us to bring this man to justice – someone who has left an innocent member of the public in a great deal of distress and significantly out of pocket financially.”
