Fury will take on Sam Sexton at the Macron Stadium on May 12th
Hughie Fury says he'll be world champion one day as he gears up for his British heavyweight title fight with Sam Sexton at Bolton's Macron Stadium on May 12th.
The 23-year-old has told us he has designs on challenging for a world title.
It'll be Fury's first bout since his controversial points defeat to Joseph Parker in September last year.
And he says he's ready to take the next step in his career:
"I'm only just growing. As each day goes by and the more time on my side the stronger I get.
"I'm focused on getting to the top and believe me, I'll be champion of the world one day even if it's the next couple of years, when I get my chance I won't let it go again."
"I've just got to work my way back up there. I'm not trying top dodge anyone, I want to fight the best.
"If I was offered a world title shot tomorrow I'd take it."
Meanwhile, on his opponent Sexton, Fury says he doesn't know too much about him but is prepared for the challenge:
"I'm ready now, I'm more hungry than ever and more focused than ever.
"Whatever Sexton brings I've got an answer for, all I know is he's going to get a good seeing to.
"I've been working on a lot of stuff in the gym over Christmas and I've been focused more than ever so it's going to be a different Hughie Fury in the ring."
