The Bolton boss has told us he has spoken to the striker this week following a war of words between Dale Vince and Ken Anderson.
Forest Green recalled Doidge claiming Bolton - who brought him in last summer - had failed to honour an agreement to make the move permanent.
It resulted in a war of words between Ken Anderson and Dale Vince with both denying claims from the other.
In the middle of the whole affair is Doidge and Bolton boss Phil Parkinson told us he hopes it can be resolved.
"I feel for Christian, I really do." Parkinson told us
"I think he's caught in the middle of it and he's a terrific lad who himself was growing into the division because it's a big step up from where he was and was getting stronger by the week. Hopefully it can be resolved"
It has been reported that Doidge was in the process of buying a house in the area before the shock news of his recall.
"I called him earlier in the week just for a general chat really." Parkinson continued
"He's obviously a bit mixed up in the head which you would expect but he's a good lad and if he's at Forest Green he'll be professional and if he's with us he be the ultimate pro."
