Ryan Lowe confirms he left Bury after achieving promotion to League one in his first full season
Lowe has served the club both as a player and a manager over three spells achieving three promotions in total.
He joins Plymouth Argyle, with the Shakers in financial turmoil, facing a winding petition and staff and and player owed outstanding wages.
On Plymouth's website he said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed Argyle manager and to have been given this opportunity to manage a great football club.
“I cannot wait to get started and to meet the legendary Green Army.”
The 40 year told Bury supporters he makes the decision with a heavy heart.
Bury have also confirmed assistant manager Steven Schumacher has also left to join Ryan in Devon
