
Police and fire officers are investigating after two children were rescued from a blaze in Bolton last night.
At 6.50pm on Monday 18 June 2012, police were called by the fire service to an address on Longden Street in Halliwell, Bolton, following reports of a fire.
Officers attended and found that fire officers had rescued a three-year-old boy from an upstairs room in the address.
A one-year-old girl had been rescued from inside the address before the fire service arrived. She suffered minor injuries.
The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. He remains in a critical condition
A joint investigation is being conducted with GMFRS to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the fire.
