Problems on East Lancs Road at Haydock

Crash between HGV and car

Officers from Merseyside Police's Roads Policing Unit have been in attendance on the East Lancashire Road following a collision this morning, Thursday, 16 February.
 
At around 9.40am, emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision between Golbourne and Haydock Islands on the west-bound carriageway.
 
The driver of a Fiat, a woman in her 50s was taken to hospital by ambulance where her condition is decribed as serious but stable. The driver and passenger, aged 45 and 35 years, of a HGV have been taken to hospital where both of their conditions are not thought to be life threatening.
 
The west-bound carriageway remains close while collision investigators are at scene, but it is thought that this will open shortly.
