Cyclist Serious After Accident In Bolton

Just before 4pm on Sunday 6 May 2012, the man was cycling on Darwen Road in Bromley Cross.


As he dismounted from his bike, a blue Toyota Yaris turned across his path into Chapeltown Road leaving him with serious injuries.


The 84-year-old driver of the Toyota was uninjured.


The man was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.


Sergeant Lee Westhead from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, "If anyone saw the collision and has not already made themselves known to police then I would ask that they contact my team.


"An investigation has now been launched into the circumstances of the collision and we are providing specialist support to the injured ma family."
